Landes
Landes will be architecturally unique apartment residences at the leading edge of redevelopment in Seattle’s oldest neighborhood. First Hill offers easy access to the city shopping, events and attractions and possesses historic churches, museums and large tree-lined streets, unlike anything found in downtown. Landes pays tribute to Bertha Knight Landes. As Mayor of Seattle from 1926- 1928, she was the first woman to serve as Mayor of any major city. She was a role model for women and held many leadership roles in the Seattle community. Construction begins Spring 2007 and is designed to take advantage of every opportunity to gain light and air. The interiors will features large windows, Karndean wood floors and translucent operable walls. European-inspired linear kitchens maximize the rest of living space. Landes’ collaborative design by world-renowned architects NBBJ and Baylis will have 81 units, including 3 live/work lofts contained in a 5 story wood frame over 2 floors of concrete building. There will be 72 below-grade parking stalls and 3,850 SF of ground floor retail that will animate the building at street level.

Projected completion: Fall 2008

Marketside Flats
Between 1916 and 1943 the 84 Union Building served as the US Immigration Puget Sound Headquarters, the Headquarters of the Cannery Workers and Farm Laborers Union and a hiring hall for the great Alaska salmon canneries. The building is a registered historic landmark. In 1970 84 Union was gutted and laid in various states of disrepair until Harbor purchased the building in 1989 from the Seattle Port Authority. At this point, Harbor breathed life back into the interior adding apartments and retail space. Construction begins on Marketside Flats in Spring 2007 to create 27 high-end apartments that will occupy the top three floors of the historic 84 Union Building. The historic façade will remain a mainstay of Seattle’s waterfront neighborhood and Typhoon! Restaurant will be open throughout construction.

Projected completion: Spring 2008
